Steg 1

We will crochet a small bag that fits well now that spring and summer are coming. The bag is crocheted in Braided Rope 5 mm and with a crochet hook 8 mm. Each step is linked to the seconds in the video, which are written next to the title so it´s easier to follow.

The starting loop - 0:57

Start by making a simple loop around the crochet hook. One way you can do this is to wrap the yarn around your index and middle finger and then pull the yarn up so that the loop locks when you tighten. Leave about 15cm tail.

Steg 2

Lap 2 - 3:10

Now start following the chain back and crochet row 2. Skip the first loop and start with to go down in the loop that comes after. Catch the yarn and pull through (you now temporarily have 2 loops on the hook). Pick up the yarn with the needle again and pull through both loops. Repeat 9 times. Then crochet 3 stitches in the same stitch (which is the stitch at the top). Now you crochet on the other side of the chain, crochet 8 stitches and then crochet two stitches in the same stitch (in the last stitch). In total you have 22 stitches on this round.

Steg 3

Lap 2 - 3:10

Now you should start following the chain back and crochet row 2. Skip the first loop and start with to go down into the loop that comes after. Catch up the yarn and pull through (you now temporarily have 2 loops on the crochet hook). Catch the yarn with the needle again and pull through both loops. Repeat 9 times. Then crochet 3 stitches in the same stitch (which is the stitch on top). Now you crochet on the other side of the chain, crochet 8 stitches, and then crochet two pieces of stitches in the same stitch (in the last stitch). In total, you have 22 stitches on this lap.

Steg 4

The side of the bag - 8.34

Now crochet single stitches in each stitch until the bag is as high as you wish. When you are satisfied, stop on the side of the bag to crochet the shoulder strap.

It is important that the shoulder strap begins to crochet when you are on the side of the bag. It is crocheted from loose loops and you crochet as many loose loops as you need to get the shoulder strap as long as you wish. Keep in mind that the shoulder strap stretches a little after use. For reference, 62 loose loops are crocheted in the video. Once you have the strap in the desired length, you finish by crocheting a stitch on the other side of the bag. Then crochet an extra stitch on the side so that the shoulder strap is securely fastened. Then proceed to the next point.

Steg 5

Finishing - 12.50

Finish by cutting the yarn, leaving a 5-10 cm tail. Tie the remaining tail in a knot around the last loop to prevent it from unraveling. Tighten and hide the tail by attaching it through a few nearby loops. Do the same to the tail that was left from the start (if you haven´t already crocheted it in so it´s hidden).

Now your shoulder bag is ready:)
