Crochet a Placemat with Lemons
Here’s a fun crochet project for anyone who wants to brighten up the dining table! This pattern is suitable for beginners who would like to try crocheting with more than one color while still achieving a relatively quick result. You will need two colors of EKO Nano yarn (we used “Nature White” and “Yellow”), a 6 mm crochet hook, scissors, a large tapestry needle. The placemat shown in the picture is approximately 43 cm (17 in) wide and 33 cm (13 in) high.
Yarn Consumption: Approximately 315 g in total (about 200 g of the main color and about 115 g of the contrast color).

Here's how to do it
The placemat is crocheted flat, working back and forth in rows with a simple turning chain (chain 1 and turn). You will crochet with two colors, which means that one strand must be carried and enclosed (referred to as the “inactive yarn”) while the other color is being used. This is easily done using standard single crochet stitches. Remember to gently pull the carried/inactive yarn throughout your work to keep everything neat, straight, and evenly tensioned. — Michelle
