Crochet tank top "Stella"
Crochet this nice summer tank top with EKO Nano.
In this tutorial we teach you how to crochet the tank top Stella in our popular yarn EKO Nano Tube yarn. We go through row by row and the techniques which will be used. If you want to increase or decrease the size of the top, you adjust by the number of loops in the chain you crochet in the first step. The tank top Stella is completely beginner-friendly and you can vary colors and techniques just how you want to get your very unique summer top.
You need EKO Nano tube yarn and a crochet hook 6 mm.
Yarn consumption: approx. 340 g för the size om the picture. It depends on how tight you crochet and the size that you crochet.

This is what you need:

Here's how to do it
In this example, the orange stripes are just a few rounds, so cut the orange yarn after each round. Depending on how many colours you use, it might be better to cut the yarn after each colour change. You can decide yourself whether it is better to just let all the yarn run on the back without cutting them off between the rounds, or whether it is better to cut and fasten them off. You can vary the look and texture of the top by varying how you “pick up” the stitch from the previous lap. In the instructions, it has been crocheted in the back loop of the stitch. Hope you like this beautiful summer tank! /Viktoria

Start with yellow yarn:
Begin by making a slip knot, then crochet a chain from it. The chain forms the top edge of the top, which means it should be the same length as the planned bust measurement of the finished garment.
Example: The top in the photos (NOTE: the top in the video is not the same as in the photos) was made with 63 chains, and Viktoria has a 90 cm (35.5 in) bust circumference.
Round 1:
Begin by making a slip knot around the crochet hook. One way to do this is to wrap the yarn around your index and middle finger, then pull up the yarn so the loop tightens when you pull it.
Next, crochet loops: yarn over and pull the yarn through the loop on the hook to create a chain.
When your chain is the desired length, join it into a ring with a slip stitch. Insert the hook into the first chain, yarn over, and pull the yarn through all loops on the hook at once.
Round 2:
Begin the round with one chain stitch. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the loop on the hook.
Crochet one single crochet in each stitch of the chain. You make a single crochet by inserting the hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull the yarn through so that you have two loops on the hook. Yarn over again and pull the yarn through both loops on the hook.
Finish the round with a slip stitch in the chain stitch that you started the round with.
From now on, all rounds consisting of single crochet begin with one chain stitch and end with a slip stitch in the chain stitch.
Round 3:
Begin with one chain stitch, just like we did in Round 2. Crochet one half double crochet in the back loop of each stitch.
If you look at a stitch, it consists of two strands. The strand closest to you is the front loop, and the strand farthest from you is the back loop. In this round, you will only insert your hook into the back loop.
You will crochet half double crochets in the back loop. To make a half double crochet, yarn over and then insert the hook into the stitch from the previous round. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the stitch so that you have three loops on the hook. Yarn over again and pull the yarn through all three loops on the hook.
Finish the round with a slip stitch in the chain stitch that you started the round with.
From now on, all rounds consisting of half double crochet begin with one chain stitch and end with a slip stitch in the chain stitch.
Change to purple yarn:
Round 4: Crochet half double crochets in the back loop of each stitch. Finish the round with a slip stitch in the starting chain, just like before.
Change to yellow yarn:
Rounds 5–7: Crochet half double crochets in the back loop of each stitch. Finish each round with a slip stitch in the starting chain.
Change to orange yarn:
Round 8: Crochet one single crochet in the back loop of each stitch. Finish with a slip stitch in the starting chain.
Change to yellow yarn:
Round 9: Crochet half double crochets in the back loop of each stitch. Finish with a slip stitch in the starting chain.
Change to purple yarn:
Rounds 10–12: Crochet half double crochets in the back loop of each stitch. Finish each round with a slip stitch in the starting chain.
Change to yellow yarn:
Round 13: Crochet half double crochets in the back loop of each stitch. Finish with a slip stitch in the starting chain.
Change to purple yarn:
Round 14: Crochet one single crochet in the back loop of each stitch. Finish with a slip stitch in the starting chain.
Change to orange yarn:
Round 15: Crochet half double crochets in the back loop of each stitch. Finish with a slip stitch in the starting chain.
Change to purple yarn:
Round 16: Crochet double crochets in each stitch. Begin the round with two chain stitches. Yarn over, insert the hook into the back loop of the stitch from the previous round, yarn over and pull up a loop (three loops on the hook). Yarn over and pull through the first two loops (two loops remain), then yarn over and pull through the last two loops. Repeat around to the beginning. Finish the round with a slip stitch in the second chain.
From now on, all rounds consisting of double crochets begin with two chain stitches and end with a slip stitch in the second chain.
Change to yellow yarn:
Round 17: Crochet double crochets in each space between the double crochets from the previous round. Finish with a slip stitch in the second chain.
Change to purple yarn:
Round 18: Crochet a double crochet in every other space. Begin the round with four chain stitches, then crochet a double crochet in the second space. Then chain 2 between each double crochet and skip one space. Finish with a slip stitch in the second chain.
Round 19: Begin with one chain stitch. In each space between the double crochets from the previous round, crochet one single crochet, two double crochets, and one single crochet—all in the same space. Repeat around and finish with a slip stitch. Cut the purple yarn.
Change to yellow yarn:
Round 20: Crochet a single crochet in the “valley” (the space between the last single crochet and the first single crochet) between the wavy groups. Then chain 3 and crochet a single crochet in the next valley. Repeat around, finish with a slip stitch, and cut the yarn.
Weave in all ends by tying them around a stitch on the inside of the top, then weaving them in along the stitches.
Finally, crochet a chain (like at the very beginning) with orange yarn, and attach it to the center front of the top so it can be tied around the neck (see video).
Your top is now complete! ♡
