Crochet a Cozy and Warm Poncho
In its simplicity, the poncho is both timeless and comfortable, perfect to throw on when the cold catches you off guard. Crocheting this poncho is relatively quick! It can serve as a stylish outer garment or provide that extra warmth by the fireplace. This poncho is made using our soft Dreamy Blend yarn and features an airy design. The one shown in the photos is crocheted in the colors "white," "cinnamon," and "grey," paired with a 6 mm crochet hook.

For added assistance, consider using stitch markers. If you have a wooden bead at home, you can use it for the ties at the neckline, though it’s optional.

Yarn Consumption: For size S/M (as pictured), you'll need approximately 300 grams (6 skeins) of yarn in total. As a reference, we used 2 skeins of each color in the photos. For size M/L, you'll need about 450 grams (9 skeins). Note that you may need more yarn depending on how tightly you crochet.

Here's how to do it

This comfortable and airy poncho is crocheted in rounds, from the top down. The pattern comes in two sizes: S/M and L/XL. If you want the poncho to be longer, simply add more rounds until you’re satisfied with the size—just keep in mind that you’ll need additional skeins of yarn. Sizes

  • Size S/M: 60 cm long from the center of the neck opening to the longest point of the poncho's lower edge. 78 cm wide at the widest part of the poncho. Neck opening approximately 30 cm wide.
  • Size L/XL: 68 cm long from the center of the neck opening to the longest point of the poncho's lower edge. 86 cm wide at the widest part of the poncho. Neck opening approximately 39 cm wide.

Important Notes:

  • 1 chain at the beginning of a round does not count as 1 single crochet.
  • Similarly, 3 chains at the beginning of a round do not count as 1 double crochet.

How to Change Colors in Rounds:
When crocheting a slip stitch at the end of a round, bring in the new color during the final pull-through and draw it through the stitch. Continue crocheting with the new color. You can secure the yarn end from the color change by crocheting over it for a few stitches with the new color before trimming the end (work the new color around the loose end).

Crochet a Cozy and Warm Poncho
In its simplicity, the poncho is both timeless and comfortable, perfect to throw on when the cold catches you off guard. Crocheting this poncho is relatively quick! It can serve as a stylish outer garment or provide that extra warmth by the fireplace. This poncho is made using our soft Dreamy Blend yarn and features an airy design. The one shown in the photos is crocheted in the colors "white," "cinnamon," and "grey," paired with a 6 mm crochet hook.

For added assistance, consider using stitch markers. If you have a wooden bead at home, you can use it for the ties at the neckline, though it’s optional.

Yarn Consumption: For size S/M (as pictured), you'll need approximately 300 grams (6 skeins) of yarn in total. As a reference, we used 2 skeins of each color in the photos. For size M/L, you'll need about 450 grams (9 skeins). Note that you may need more yarn depending on how tightly you crochet.

Crochet poncho “Heidi”
Steg 1

Sizes

  • Size S/M: 60 cm long from the center of the neck opening to the longest point of the poncho's lower edge. 78 cm wide at the widest part of the poncho. Neck opening approximately 30 cm wide.
  • Size L/XL: 68 cm long from the center of the neck opening to the longest point of the poncho's lower edge. 86 cm wide at the widest part of the poncho. Neck opening approximately 39 cm wide.

Important Notes:

  • 1 chain at the beginning of a round does not count as 1 single crochet.
  • Similarly, 3 chains at the beginning of a round do not count as 1 double crochet.

How to Change Colors in Rounds:
When crocheting a slip stitch at the end of a round, bring in the new color during the final pull-through and draw it through the stitch. Continue crocheting with the new color. You can secure the yarn end from the color change by crocheting over it for a few stitches with the new color before trimming the end (work the new color around the loose end).

Förena med 1 smygmaska i den 1:a fasta maskan av varvet. Fäst tråden och göm undan den med en nål på baksidan av ponchon.

Virka 179 luftmaskor. Virka 1 fast maska i varje luftmaska med start i den andra luftmaskan. Totalt har du 178 fasta maskor. Fäst snöret och göm undan det med en nål.

Trä bandet genom hålen på ponchons krage enligt bilden nedan. För bandets ändar genom en träkula för en extra slutfiness. Du är nu klar med din poncho :)
