Steg 1

Start

In this instruction, we make a flowerpot hanger using the “Macrame” technique that you can customize according to the size of your pot. To get started, cut 4 ropes, making them 320 cm long each. Thread the ropes into the wooden ring so that you have equal parts on both sides.

Steg 2

First knot/ upper part

Cut another piece of rope of 80 cm. Lay the rope as in the photo and make a loop at the top, closest to the wooden ring. Then start at the bottom of the loop to twist around the entire “bundle” about 6 times until you get to what is now a loop.

Steg 3

Thread the end of the rope into the loop. Then pull both ends so that the loop itself ends up inside the knot. This way you lock the knot. Now you can cut off the remaining ropes that stick out.

Now you're done with the top part!

Steg 4

Lower part

Now it´s time to create the part where you will place the actual pot. TIP: Try to find a place at home where you can hang your work, a wall, or a clothing rack. From the top knot, measure down 60cm. Divide the ropes into 4 pairs. Make a single knot on each of the four pairs. Make sure they are aligned when hanging.

Steg 5

From these four knots, measure down approximately 14 cm. Now you will create a net for the pot to sit in. Split the pairs and tie a single knot with the pair next to it. Start with the ones in the middle first as in the picture, then finish with the two ropes on the edge. Make sure these knots line up horizontally, so your pot will hang straight.

Steg 6

Finishing

About 3 cm below the last row of knots you will make the same type of knot as you did in the upper part. Cut another 80 cm long rope and make a similar knot as you did at the top. After you make this last knot, you will have about 1 m of hanging tassels. You can either leave them hanging as they are, make a larger knot to tie just part of them, or cut them to the length you want.

Steg 7

Now you can add the pot and hang your pot! :)
