Steg 1

Info – Puff stitch:

*Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over again and pull up a loop*. Repeat the steps between *..* a total of three times. You should now have 7 loops on your hook. Yarn over once more and pull through all loops on the hook. Crochet 1 chain stitch to secure the puff stitch.

If you’re unsure how to make a puff stitch, you can watch the video tutorial below (Puff Stitch).

FRONT AND BACK PIECES (S, L, XL)

You start crocheting the pieces from the bottom up.

Begin by making 78 (66, 90, 102) + 3 chain stitches, or as many chain stitches divisible by 6 as you want the top to be wide. If you’re unsure how to make a chain stitch, see the video below.

Row 1: Crochet a double crochet in the 3rd chain from the hook. Crochet 1 double crochet in each chain across the row. Chain 4 and turn. The last 4 chains count as 1 double crochet plus 1 chain. You should have a total of 78 (66, 90, 102) double crochets. If you are unsure how to crochet double crochets, see the video below.

Steg 2

Row 2:

Crochet 1 double crochet in the 2nd stitch. Chain 1 and skip 1 stitch. Crochet 1 double crochet in the next stitch. Continue repeating the pattern (chain 1, skip 1 stitch, 1 double crochet in the next stitch) across the row. End with 1 double crochet in the 3rd chain from the previous row. Chain 3 and turn. You should have a total of 40 double crochets (including the chains at the beginning of the row).

Row 3:

Crochet 1 double crochet in the first chain space from the previous row. Crochet 1 double crochet on top of the double crochet from the previous row. Continue repeating the pattern (1 double crochet in the chain space, 1 double crochet on top of the previous row’s double crochet) across the row. End with 1 double crochet in the last chain space. Chain 1 and turn. You should have a total of 78 (66, 90, 102) double crochets.

Steg 3

Row 4: Crochet 1 single crochet in the first stitch. Skip 2 stitches. Crochet 1 puff stitch in the next stitch, then chain 2. Make 1 more puff stitch in the same space as the first puff stitch, then chain 2 again. Make 1 more puff stitch in the same space as the previous two puff stitches. Chain 1. Skip 2 stitches and crochet 1 single crochet in the next stitch.

Continue repeating the pattern (1 puff stitch in the next stitch, chain 2, 1 more puff stitch in the same space, chain 2, 1 more puff stitch in the same space, chain 1, skip 2 stitches, 1 single crochet in the next stitch) across the row.

End by skipping 1 single crochet and crochet 1 single crochet in the 3rd chain of the previous row’s beginning chain. Chain 5 and turn.

You should have a total of 13 puff stitch shells and 14 single crochets.

Steg 4

Row 5:

Crochet 1 single crochet on top of the middle puff stitch from the previous row. Chain 2. Crochet 3 double crochets in the single crochet after the last puff stitch shell from the previous row. Chain 2. Crochet 1 single crochet on top of the middle puff stitch from the previous row.

Repeat the pattern (chain 2, 3 double crochets in the single crochet after the last puff stitch shell, chain 2, 1 single crochet on top of the middle puff stitch) across the row.

End with 2 chains and 1 double crochet in the first stitch from row 4. Chain 3 and turn.

Repeat Rows 1–5 until you reach the desired length, where the sleeve sections will begin. In the pattern, it is suggested to repeat Rows 1–5 an additional 3 times for sizes S and M, and 4 times for sizes L and XL.

Steg 5

Row 6: Row 6 is essentially a repeat of Row 1, but the placement of the double crochets is slightly different.

  • Crochet 1 double crochet in the same space as the 3 chain stitches.
  • Crochet 1 double crochet in the 2-chain space from the previous row.
  • Crochet 1 double crochet in the single crochet on top of the puff stitch from the previous row.
  • Crochet 1 double crochet in the next 2-chain space.
  • Crochet 1 double crochet on top of each double crochet from the previous row.

Continue repeating the pattern (1 double crochet in 2-chain space, 1 double crochet in single crochet on top of puff stitch, 1 double crochet in next 2-chain space, 1 double crochet on top of each double crochet from previous row) across the row.

Finish with 1 double crochet in the last 2-chain space and 1 double crochet in the 3rd chain of the 5 chains you made at the beginning of the previous row.

Ch 4 and turn. Total: 78 (66, 90, 102) double crochets.

Row 7: This is a repeat of Row 2 (see below)

  • Crochet 1 double crochet in the 2nd stitch.
  • Chain 1, skip 1 stitch.
  • Crochet 1 double crochet in the next stitch.
  • Continue repeating the pattern (chain 1, skip 1 stitch, 1 double crochet in the next stitch) across the row.
  • Finish with 1 double crochet in the 3rd chain of the previous row.
  • Chain 3 and turn.

Rows 8–20: From here, repeat Rows 1–6 until you reach the desired sleeve height. After Row 7, continue with the repetition of Row 3 and onward. In the pattern, Rows 1–5 are repeated a total of 4 times. The sleeves begin at the end of Row 20, which is a repeat of Row 5.

Steg 6

SLEEVES

At the end of Row 20, after crocheting 1 double crochet in the last stitch:

  • Chain 30 + 3.
  • Note: You can decide the sleeve length yourself by chaining a multiple of 6 (+3 for the left side).
  • Do not cut the yarn; leave it to continue working the blouse. After starting the other sleeve with new yarn, you will chain the same number of stitches for the second sleeve.
  • Attach new yarn to the first stitch of Row 20, chain 30, then fasten off and cut the yarn.
  • Important: Use the same number of chains as you did for the first sleeve.

Row 21: Crochet 1 double crochet in the 3rd chain. Crochet 1 double crochet in each chain across the row. Chain 4 and turn.
You should have a total of 138 (126, 150, 162) double crochets.

Rows 22–38 (S/M): Repeat the pattern from rows 1–5 (row 22 corresponds to pattern row 2, with 1 double crochet, 1 chain across the row, and row 38 corresponds to pattern row 2).

Rows 22–43 (L/XL): Repeat the pattern from rows 1–5 (row 22 corresponds to pattern row 2, and row 43 corresponds to pattern row 2).

Steg 7

CREATE THE NECKLINE (from both sleeve ends)

Now you will shape the neckline for the top. You can decide how wide you want the neckline to be by choosing how many stitches to leave unworked. In this pattern, the following calculations are used:

Mark the neckline by counting from the sleeve end toward the center:

  • 53 stitches for size M
  • 47 stitches for size S
  • 59 stitches for size L
  • 65 stitches for size XL

Place your stitch marker in the 53rd / 47th / 59th / 65th stitch. Do the same on both sides.

Steg 8

RIGHT SHOULDER PIECE OF THE TOP (front view)

Row 39 (S/M): Crochet 1 double crochet in the first chain space from the previous row. Crochet 1 double crochet on top of the double crochet from the previous row. Continue repeating the pattern (1 double crochet in the chain space, 1 double crochet on top of the double crochet from the previous row) until the end of the row. Finish with 1 double crochet in the last chain space.

Total: 47/53 double crochets. Fasten off and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail to use for attaching the front and back of the top.

Row 44 (L/XL): Crochet 1 double crochet in the first chain space from the previous row. Crochet 1 double crochet on top of the double crochet from the previous row. Continue repeating the pattern until the end of the row. Finish with 1 double crochet in the last chain space.

Total: 49/65 double crochets. Fasten off and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing the front and back together.

LEFT SHOULDER PIECE

Attach new yarn at the marker.

Row 39 (S/M): Crochet 1 double crochet in the first chain space from the previous row. Crochet 1 double crochet on top of the double crochet from the previous row. Continue repeating the pattern until the end of the row. Finish with 1 double crochet in the last chain space.

Total: 47/53 double crochets. Fasten off and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for attaching the front and back.

Fasten off and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Crochet an identical piece. Note: You do not need to leave a long tail when working the last row of the second piece; fasten off, cut, and weave in the yarn.

Steg 9

ASSEMBLY

Now it’s time to assemble the top. Work with the wrong side facing out. Place the front and back pieces together as shown in the image. You can choose to either crochet or sew the pieces together. In this pattern, we have chosen to sew the top.

  1. First, sew the shoulder and upper sleeve sections together.
  2. Then, sew the sides of the top along with the lower sleeve sections.
Steg 10

SLEEVE DECORATIVE EDGE

Attach the yarn at the lower seam of the sleeve on the outermost edge. The first round consists of single crochets all around the sleeve.

Round 1:
Crochet 1 chain, then 2 single crochets in the same space (this should be at the end of row 1 of the top’s pattern repetition). You will crochet 2 single crochets at the end of rows 1, 2, 3, and 5 of the pattern repetition. At the end of row 4, crochet 1 single crochet.

  • For size S/M: a total of 66 single crochets.
  • For size L/XL: a total of 84 single crochets.

Join the round with 1 slip stitch in the first single crochet. Chain 1.

Round 2:
Crochet 1 single crochet in the same space as the chain. Skip 2 stitches. Crochet 5 double crochets in the next stitch. Skip 2 stitches. Crochet 1 single crochet in the next stitch. Repeat this pattern around the round.

Continue repeating the pattern: dc in the 2-ch space from the previous row, dc in the sc over the puff st from the previous row, dc in the next 2-ch space, dc over each dc from the previous row across the row.

Finish with dc in the last 2-ch space and dc in the 3rd ch of the 5-ch at the beginning of the previous row. Ch 4 and turn.

Total: 78 (66, 90, 102) dc.

Rows 7–20: After Row 6, continue repeating the pattern of Row 2, then Row 3, and so on. In the pattern, Rows 1–5 are repeated a total of 4 times. The sleeves are worked starting at the end of Row 20, which is a repeat of Row 5.

SLEEVES:
At the end of Row 20, after working 1 dc in the last stitch:
Ch 30 + 3 (adjust the number of chains in multiples of 6 + 3 for the left side if desired to make the sleeves longer).

Do not cut the yarn; leave it attached so you can continue working the body of the top after you work the chains for the second sleeve.

Attach new yarn to the first stitch of Row 20 on the other side. Ch 30 (or the same number you used for the first sleeve). Fasten off and cut the yarn.

Row 21: Dc in the 3rd ch from hook, dc in each ch across to the end. Ch 4 and turn. Total stitches: 78 (66, 90, 102) dc.

Rows 22–43 (L/XL): Repeat the pattern Rows 1–5. Row 22 corresponds to pattern Row 2, and Row 43 corresponds to pattern Row 2.

CREATE THE NECK OPENING (from both sleeve ends):
Now create the neckline for the top. You can decide how wide you want the neck opening by leaving a number of sts unworked. In this pattern, the following counts are suggested:

  • Mark the neck opening by counting from the sleeve end toward the center of the top:
    • Size S: 47 sts
    • Size M: 53 sts
    • Size L: 59 sts
    • Size XL: 65 sts

TOP RIGHT SHOULDER (as seen from the front):
Row 39 (S/M): Dc 47/53 sts. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing the front and back pieces together.
Row 44 (L/XL): Dc 49/65 sts. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing the front and back pieces together.

TOP LEFT SHOULDER:
Attach new yarn at the marker.
Row 39 (S/M): Dc 47/53 sts. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing the front and back pieces together.
Row 44 (L/XL): Dc 49/65 sts. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing the front and back pieces together.

Work an identical piece for the other side. Note: You do not need to leave a long tail when finishing the last row of the second piece; fasten off, cut, and weave in ends.

ASSEMBLY
Now it’s time to assemble the top. Work with the WS (wrong side) facing out. Place the front and back pieces together as shown in the illustration.

You can choose whether to sew or crochet the pieces together. In this pattern, we’ve chosen to sew the top.

  1. First, sew the shoulder seams and upper sleeve edges together.
  2. Next, sew the side seams of the top and the lower sleeve edges together.

SLEEVE EDGING
Attach the yarn at the outer edge of the sleeve near the lower seam. The first round will consist of sc around the sleeve.

Round 1: Ch 1, 2 sc in the same space (this should be the end of row 1 of the top’s pattern repeat). Work 2 sc at the ends of rows 1, 2, 3, and 5, and 1 sc at the end of row 4.

  • For size S/M: work a total of 66 sc
  • For size L/XL: work a total of 84 sc

Join the round with sl st in the first sc. Ch 1.

Round 2: Sc in the same space as the ch 1. *Ch 2, 5 dc in next stitch, ch 2, 1 sc in next stitch*. Repeat from * to * around. Join with sl st in the first sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.

You are done!

Step 1

Step 3

Step 5

Step 6

Step 7

CREATE THE NECKLINE (from both sleeve ends)

Now you will shape the neckline for the top. You can decide how wide you want the neckline to be by choosing how many stitches to leave unworked. In this pattern, the following calculations are used:

Mark the neckline by counting from the sleeve end toward the center:

  • 53 stitches for size M
  • 47 stitches for size S
  • 59 stitches for size L
  • 65 stitches for size XL

Place your stitch marker in the 53rd / 47th / 59th / 65th stitch. Do the same on both sides.

Step 8

Fasten off and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Crochet an identical piece. Note: You do not need to leave a long tail when working the last row of the second piece; fasten off, cut, and weave in the yarn.

Step 9

Step 10

Row 1: Dc in the 3rd ch from hook, dc in each ch across. Ch 4, turn (the 4 ch count as 1 dc + 1 ch). Total: 78 (66, 90, 102) dc.

Row 2: Dc in 2nd st. *Ch 1, skip 1 st, dc in next st*; repeat across the row. End with 1 dc in the 3rd ch of the previous row. Ch 3, turn.Total: 40 dc (including the ch at the beginning of the row).

Row 3: Dc in the first ch space from the previous row, dc in the dc from the previous row. Repeat across the row: dc in ch space, dc in dc from the previous row. End with 1 dc in the last ch space. Ch 1, turn.Total: 78 (66, 90, 102) dc.

Row 6: (Repeat of Row 1, with slightly different placement)
Dc in the same space as the 3 ch, dc in the 2-ch space from the previous row, dc in the sc over the puff st from the previous row, dc in the next 2-ch space, dc over each dc from the previous row.

  • Place a stitch marker in the 47th / 53rd / 59th / 65th st.
