Here's how to do it
The pattern is created using simple techniques and is suitable for everyone, regardless of previous experience. All the steps are clearly described in both text and video, so you can confidently follow along step by step. The scarf is knitted from one end to the other, which makes it easy to adjust the length along the way. The width is also determined by you. So you can create a personalized version — just the way you want it. A quick and fun project that gives a stylish and practical result! /Salli

Step 1
Start by measuring where to make the slip knot on your yarn. This is to estimate how much yarn you’ll need to cast on. A tip is to take the desired width of your project and multiply it by 2.5–3. That’s where you place your slip knot.
To make a slip knot:
Wrap the yarn around your fingers 1.5 times, then pull the yarn through to create a loop that tightens when you pull.

Step 2
TrThread the slip knot onto one of your needles to begin casting on:
Hold the needle in your dominant hand so that the yarn tail is facing you.
With your other hand, position the yarn: place the long working end between your index and middle fingers, and lay the tail end over your thumb. Pinch both strands with your other fingers to hold them in place.
Then:
- Move the needle under the yarn by your thumb,
- Over the yarn by your index finger,
- And pull through a loop.
- Tighten the loop using the tail end.
Cast on as many stitches as you want to reach your desired width. In this example, 3 stitches are used (approx. 3 cm wide).
Note: The first slip knot counts as the first stitch.

Steg 3
Knit and purl stitches
This scarf is worked by alternating rows of knit and purl stitches. You can start with either technique. In this instruction, we begin with knit stitches.
To knit:
- Make sure the working yarn is behind the needle.
- Insert the working needle (held in your dominant hand) into the first loop on the row.
- Wrap the yarn over the needle and pull through the loop.
- Slide the stitch off the needle.
Repeat until the row is complete.

Step 4
To purl:
- Make sure the working yarn is in front of the needle.
- Insert the working needle into the first loop on the row.
- Wrap the yarn under the needle and pull through the loop.
- Slide the stitch off the needle.
Repeat the entire row.

Step 5
Bind off to finish your project
- Knit 2 stitches.
- Using your needle, lift the stitch closest to your hand over the next stitch and off the end of the needle. One stitch remains.
- Knit another stitch, then repeat the same process—lift the back stitch over the front.
- Repeat until one stitch remains.
- Cut the yarn and pull the tail through the loop to make a knot.
- Weave in the yarn tail between the stitches, along the edge for example. A crochet hook or darning needle is helpful here.
