Crochet net bag “Alice”

Crochet a lovely and practical bag from EKO Braided rope 3 mm

This bag "Alice" is quick to crochet and is a perfect project even for beginners. In this instruction, we crochet a bag/bag with double crochet. The bag is just the right size and can be used for many things, for example at the beach, shopping, or for all your crochet projects. The yarn we have crocheted this bag with is MYO´s EKO Braided rope 3 mm and the size we have used on the crochet hook is 8 mm. However, you can also use a smaller crochet hook if you have one (size 6 or 7), but then the result will be slightly tighter.

Yarn consumption : Approx. 580g

Steg 1

In this instruction we will crochet a bag/bag with double crochet. The bag is perfect for the beach, shopping, or for all your crochet projects. The yarn we have crocheted this bag with is MYO´s EKO Braided rope 3 mm and the size we have used on the crochet hook is 8 mm. However, you can also use a smaller crochet hook if you have one (size 6 or 7), but then the result will be slightly tighter.

Steg 2

Get started - the innermost ring

Hold the yarn in your left hand. Twist the yarn around your fingers (left hand) three times. Use your crochet hook to go under the first two loops and hook the third with your crochet hook. Pick up the yarn again and pull under the two finger loops, hook the yarn onto the hook and pull through. Now the loop on the crochet hook holds the "inner ring" together and we can start on round 1.

Steg 3

Round 1

Now we will start crocheting the first round with double crochets. Start by making three single loops (counts as the first double crochet).

Now we will start making double crochet. Take the yarn over the hook and go down with the hook into the ring you just made, pick up yarn and pull through (you now have three loops on the hook, pick up yarn and pull through two loops (you have two loops left on the hook), pick up the yarn one last time and pull through the last two loops. You have now crocheted a double crochet.

Crochet another 10. You should have 11 double crochet plus the chain of three loops (as you did at the beginning). Now we´re going to finish round 1 by bringing the hook down into the top of the three loops (as you did at the beginning) and pulling the yarn through both loops directly. Round 1 is now complete!

Steg 4

Round 2

Now the bag will grow in size and therefore we start adding extra stitches. You start round 2 just like round 1 by crocheting three loose loops. Crochet two double crochets in each stitch. Continue until you are back where you started. In the last stitch, you crochet a double crochet (so there will be a total of two double crochets in the same stitch - three loops plus one double crochet). You have now crocheted a total of 24 double crochets. Finish the round the same way you finished round 1.

Steg 5

The following lap

Round 3 : 3 loose loops, make two double crochets in every other stitch (between these you make a double crochet as usual). Finish by going down into the third loop (as you did at the beginning) pick up yarn and pull right through. A total of 36 poles on the lap.

Round 4: 3 loose loops, make two double crochets in every 3rd stitch. Finish by going down into the third loop (as you did at the beginning) and pick up yarn and pull right through. A total of 48 double crochets.

Round 5: 3 loose loops, make two double crochets in every 8 stitches. Finish by going down into the third loop (as you did at the beginning) and pick up yarn and pull right through. A total of 54 double crochets.

Row 6 onwards: 3 loose loops, crochet a double crochet in each double crochet. Continue until you have the height of the bag that you desire. The bag in the video has 10 turns with double crochets in each double crochet.

Steg 6

Handle

On the last round we crochet the handles. Crochet 6 single stitches, then crochet 28 loose loops (if you want longer shoulder straps, increase the number of loose loops). Skip 15 stitches on the bag and go down in the 16th stitch and crochet 12 stitches. Crochet again 28 loose loops. Skip 15 stitches on the bag and go down in the 16th stitch. Crochet 6 stitches. Test the bag if you are happy with the shoulder straps before proceeding.

Steg 7

Finishing

Finish by cutting the yarn, leaving a 5-10 cm tail. Tie the remaining tail in a knot around the last loop to prevent it from unraveling. Tighten and hide the tail by attaching it through a few nearby loops.

Now your bag is ready! :)
