Steg 1

Handles

Cut to 2 lengths of rope that are 5.5m long. Take one of the ropes and divide in the middle (hang on a hook or similar).

Now make a single knot as you usually make a knot. For the next knot, you should do the opposite of how you usually tie. (see the video) Now vary these by doing every other. Continue until you have approximately 50cm left of your ropes.

Then take one of the ends that are left and thread them into the loop at the top (which the hook hangs from) and make 4 more knots. Now you have made one of the handles. Make another one the same way. To make the ends neat, you can tie a knot and pull tight. Then cut off the rest.

Steg 2

The bag

Now it's time to cut the lengths for the bag. Cut 40 lengths that are 3.5m long.
Divide your lengths so you have 20 on each handle.
Now we will fasten each length by using the lark's head knot.

Now we are going to attach each length through using the knot 'larkhead' Larks head knots.

You fold the rope in half, bring your folded end around the handle, and then bring your ends of yarn through the loop. Do this on all 20 ropes on both handles.

Steg 3

Row 1 - Square knot “Square Knot”

Now we are ready for the knots. You will create a knot called a square knot that repeats for the entire pattern.

Take the four leftmost ropes (not the ropes coming from the handle) make a "P" by placing it on top of the middle rope and under the leftmost rope. Then pass the left rope under the middle rope and through the large hole in the "P" Pull the entire rope out of "P". Tighten both ends. Repeat this sequence but this time use the left rope and do a “4a”, follow the same sequence as above but in the opposite direction. See pictures below. Once you have completed the first two knots, simply repeat these, alternating the 4 and P by taking the next 4 ropes and repeating until you reach the other side of the handle.

Steg 4

Line 2

To get the pattern we want, you must now take 2 ropes from each pair above. Then make a square knot out of these.

Line 3

Now we do the same as row 2. Take 2 ropes from each pair and make a square knot out of them. When you are done with these lines, the bag will look like below.

Row 4

Now we will bring these two parts together. Turn the future outside of the bag (the outside is the one in the picture above) towards each other. Then take two ropes (on the side/edge of each part) and make a square knot. Then continue in the same way around your bag until you have made it as long as you wish.

Steg 5

Bottom

Once you start to get the length you want, or that your ropes start to get short (you need about 20cm left), then it's time to do your bottom.
Do 2 laps where you tighten your square knots hard!

Steg 6

Finishing

Now you can take your bag off the hook and lay it flat. Find one of the sides of the bag. Take the two ropes that are closest to each other and make a tight double knot. Then take the two ropes that are in front of the knot you just made and do the same. Continue in this manner until you have tied the entire bottom.
When you have secured all the knots, you can cut the ropes to the desired length.

When you are done, just turn the bag inside out, or leave the lashes hanging on the outside. You decide that yourself! :)
